Privacy Policy Updates

I’m sure everyone has received a ton of these emails about updates to ‘insert any website here’ policies.

Yeah we’ve had to do it here also.

So quick recap.

We don’t collect any of your information for any reason, but for what is stated.  Any information collected during Polls or Questions is deleted once the needed information is gathered.

Email Address and IP Addresses are collected for comments, but are not used or sold.  If you would like your information deleted, let me know and we’ll work on getting older comments removed.

We do not sell any information nor do we take any in from advertisers.

The only information we have gathered and will keep for a few years, is those who participate in the Christmas Card List.  We only keep the past 5 years of information, then delete it.

As for security, we have programs for Malware and Spam, plus protection with the hosting company.  If anything should happen – we will let everyone know immediately.

This update is not just for the Sylum Blog, but also the Sylum Wiki Blog and the future Sylum Archive.

“So what’s the plan?”  Shep asked as he glanced at Brass.

“There is only one way to deal with an unruly Pirate Captain.”  Brass looked around the precinct, noticing that it was mostly cleared out.  

He glanced back at Shep, who gave him a wicked smirk.

“I’m not stupid, not matter what most think of me.” He motioned upwards where the higher ranking members of the NOPD lived. “I had Captain Dent clear out the floor for a departmental meeting.  This way, we won’t be conspicuous when dragging him out of his office, down the hall, out the door, and stuffing him into the trunk.”

“I was going to let him ride in the backseat, but trunk works.”

And without hesitation, Brass stalked across the room and kicked the door open. “Hi Honey.”

Sylum Inspiration: Alex Summers

Vampire Council: Member

Alex was the first born son of Christopher and Katherine Summers.  He was a typical kid growing up after the war, and only started getting in trouble when he was a teenager.

It was then his powers started to be showcased, to the point when he did end up in jail he requested solitary confinement.

This is when he met Charles Xavier, he had come to offer him a new life at his new school for the gifted.  Alex desperate for anything to help him with his powers agreed.

He ended up helping Charles build the school, and set up security for it.  He wasn’t sure about teaching, but figured he would give it a try … if the Professor thought he could.

When Charles told him about Vampires, he wasn’t nearly as shocked, after all he shoots plasma beams out of his chest.

A few years later, he timidly asked Charles about being Turned, after all he would need someone around to help.

Sylum Information: The Navigators

The Navigators

One of the ten races.  There home planet was destroyed, due to brothers fighting over who controlled the seas.  Their battle came to earth, and a few of the inhabitants with them.

“The Navigators.  Of them you are also aware.  Masters of the water and the wind.  They live on, and in, the seas.”

Warrick grinned. “Yeah, we know them too.”

Kenway snorted. “Davy fucking Jones.” He looked like he was about to be sick. “Sonofabitch.”

“And Blackbeard,” Nicolaus concluded.

“Brothers too, whose fight destroyed their own world.  They took refuge here,” Defensor explained.  “Though they seem unlikely to tell you much of their history without persuasion.”

“And they’ve been fucking with us royally ever since they turned up.”  Kenway waved a hand as though he could somehow dismiss all of it.

We added more of the Navigators story in the POTC Series.  The 4th story that is in the early stages of being worked on, will showcase more of Blackbeard and his relationship with Davy Jones.

I’m putting out the challenge like I did for Spring Fling.  There are over 1015 Characters in the Sylum Wiki Blog – take out the ones you know have major storyline or wrapped into major arcs etc… that still leaves about 815 Characters that have no stories written on them.  These characters are all over fandom, and they spread across history – so its a pretty good guess there are a few of you who could tackle story and/or art for these characters.

The main writers of Sylum have a lot on their plates mapping major arcs and stories.  We can’t tackle a majority of characters in other Clans.   So I’m callin’ y’all out.  Take up the challenge – sign up for Seven Days.  Browse the wiki, find someone you’re interested in.

What is Seven Days? 

Seven Days is our Annual Summer Event.  We accept Sylum Art, fanmixs, videos and stories.  It’s not uncommon to see stories that are set up for future fics or Timestamps that relate to stories from Advent.

Start Date will be July 1st.

What do you need to do to participate?

You will need to sign up and state what your interested in doing.

REMINDER:  All Sylum Stories will need to be approved by Bj Jones.  If you’re interested in doing a Sylum Story contact Bj (sylumclan@yahoo.com).  DO NOT write the story then send it, this makes the General very cranky.

Sign Ups close May 15th.  If we do not get your request, by the 15th it will not be included.

Character Introduction / Mod Kin Clan2

Sylum Inspiration: Enki Sumer

Mod Clan: Member

 

Enki isn’t a Vampire, nor is Human.

He’s a Navigator and from the same planet as Davy Jones and Blackbeard.

He was pulled into their war, when Blackbeard enslaved his mermaids.  He was dragged to Earth, and severely wounded.  He found a safe place, in the Northern Seas, specifically like to stay near Iceland and Norway.

He became more known to Vampires after he met Hiccup and Toothless.  He ended up helping out Noromer, yet hasn’t told him quite yet.  He has a soft spot for him, especially after he faced Davy Jones head on, and won (sort of).

He finally got his mermaids back, after Jack Sparrow tricked Blackbeard back into the locker, leaving them finally free of his influence.

To this day he still prefers the Northerns Seas.  He stops by to see Gran, and talks to the Mariner a lot.  He gets a kick out of Jack Frost, always had and is happy he has his ‘Bunny’.
