Daniel Evans was the only son of Clementine and Richard Evans. He grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, had some education, got married, and settled on his own farm.

When the war broke out, he joined the Army of the Potomac. He ended up trained a sniper protecting Washington DC. It was in an attack against Washington that he lost his foot.

Commissioned out of the army.

He moved his family out west, seeking cheap land and the ability to start again. For years they prospered, but when a drought hit the area he began to lose crop and not be able to pay back the bank.

When he fails to pay, two of Hollander’s men set his barn on fire. The next morning, as Evans and his two sons drive their herd, they stumble upon outlaw Ben Wade and his gang who are using Evans’ cattle to block the road and ambush an armored stagecoach staffed by Pinkerton agents. As Wade loots the stage, Wade discovers Evans and his two sons watching from the hills. Acknowledging that they pose no threat to him and his gang, Wade takes their horses telling Evans that he will leave them tied up on the road to Bisbee.

Wade travels with his gang to the town of Bisbee to enjoy a celebratory drink at the local saloon. Evans eventually arrives with lawmen from Bisbee and tries in vain to negotiate with Hollander. Enraged at the loss of his livelihood and land, Evans tries confronting Hollander in the nearby saloon. Evans instead encounters Wade, whom he distracts long enough for the railroad guards to ambush and arrest him.

The coach’s owner, Grayson Butterfield, enlists McElroy, Potter, Tucker, one of Hollander’s guards, and Evans, who agrees for a $200 fee to deliver Wade for arrest. From Evans’ ranch, McElroy arranges a decoy wagon to distract Wade’s gang, now led by Charlie Prince. The real prisoner transport charts a course for Contention, where Wade will be put on the 3:10 afternoon train to Yuma Territorial Prison.

During the journey, Wade kills Tucker with a fork he stole from the ranch and later McElroy by throwing him off a cliff. William, Evans’ oldest son, who had been following the group all the way from the ranch, intercepts Wade. While taking a shortcut through a canyon, the group is attacked by Apaches. Wade kills the attackers and escapes to a Chinese laborer construction camp, where the foreman captures him. Evans, William, Potter and Butterfield appear and regain custody of their prisoner, but Potter is killed in the process. The group arrives in Contention hours before the train’s arrival time and check into a hotel, where several local marshals join them.

Wade’s gang members ambush the decoy wagon and interrogate the lone survivor. They learn that Wade is being delivered to Contention. Upon their arrival, they offer a reward to any citizen who helps them free Wade, and numerous men volunteer. This triggers a mass resignation of everyone escorting Wade to the train with the exception of Evans.

Evans escorts Wade out of the hotel, and the two make their way across town as they evade continuous gunfire from the townsmen. Wade surprises Evans and nearly strangles him, but relents when Evans reveals that delivering Wade to the train was not just about the money, but to restore his own sense of honor. The only Civil War battle Evans had been involved in was a retreat, and his injury was sustained through friendly fire, a fact that had humiliated him ever since. Delivering Wade would restore his family’s finances, guarantee their futures and serve as an accomplishment that his sons could remember well. But Evans is contracted only to successfully deliver his prisoner to the train. In light of this knowledge, Wade agrees to board the train, allowing Evans’ contract to be fulfilled.

However, Wade’s gang members know nothing of this arrangement. As Wade finally boards, he congratulates Evans. At that moment, Prince walks up from behind and mortally shoots Evans despite Wade’s order to stop. Wade steps off the train and catches the gun belt Prince tosses him. Wade abruptly executes Prince along with the rest of his gang.

Bruce refuses to talk about his childhood or his past.

The one thing known is that he is a scientist, a doctor. All he wanted in life was to do good. He was hired by Stark Industries to work on gamma radiation, for medicine, only to discover that Obediah Stane was using his research to build weapons.

He set out to destroy all of his research refusing any of it to be used to destroy or hurt others, but Stane’s men cornered him and everything went to shit.

He escaped with his life, but ended up killing innocent people in the process. His guilt and anger with himself for not seeing what Stane was up to, had him ‘Hulk’ out. He learned quickly to calm himself down … but his own fears, guilt and anger became a viscous cycle.

He escaped Stane for a few years, not even taking the chance to get a hold of Tony Stark, even after he heard about his kidnapping.

He let his guard down once and ended up captured by Magneto.

A mutant set out to duplicate his ‘mutation’.

He didn’t have the heart to tell him it wasn’t one.

Bruce was rescued when the Vampires raided the lab, looking for one of theirs. Realizing he may finally find true help, he ended up working with them. It was during this time he was reunited with Tony.

He smirked when he found out that Tony kicked Stane out of Stark Industries, but was heartened by the fact Stane was a Vampire and still out there.

After the war with the Mutants, Bruce took Mal up on his offer to settle in Alaska, away from everyone, and the ability to work and find a cure. Tony made sure he was fully supplied with anything he needed.

He knows the two of them will have to talk, and tell their stories.

Bruce has settled in Alaska, finding it calming and relaxing. He’s made friends with Robert Neville and his Mate Jack. He’s discovered interestingly that Sam, the dog, is very tuned with his emotions, and if he starts to get to agitated the dog works to calm him down.

He’s still not sure if he can cure himself, but he’s determined to cut the cycle of rage.

Though his therapist Niles Crane sometimes drives him batshit, he’s very good at listening and suggesting ways to stay calm.

With the ‘Hulk’ in the background – it’s very unlikely Bruce can be Turned.  At the moment, they aren’t willing to find out.

James has been a fisherman his entire life. Born and bred, it’s in his blood and he’s brought his family into the fishing business with him. But fishing in the Bering Sea is rough, and it can be costly-not only for your boat, but for your life.

He lost his wife to cancer, six months after she gave birth to their son, Stephen. James spread her ashes at Sea, then took his six month old out crab fishing. James raised his son on the Calico Sky, educated him with a unique style and teaching him to be a fisherman.
James became fast friends with fellow fisherman Liefr Nordman and Randolph Andrews. It wasn’t long before he figured out both of their secrets. The introduction to Captain Jack Aubrey confirmed all of James’ suspicions.

James was approached by Wayne Studios to work on a new show, featuring their life Crab Hunting. At first he was hesitant, but after meeting the producer Frank Hurley, he agreed to allow them on board the Calico Sky.

A strong friendship was struck with Frank Hurley over many hours in the Wheel House, and when a Rogue wave broadsided the Calico Sky, injuring James, there was no doubt in James’ mind the answer he would give Hurley.

Richard Beauregard comes from a long line of Beauregards, that date back to the famous Confederate General. The family has always been based in New Orleans, and because of this he’s known about Vampires most of his life.

Richard ran the family Shrimp Business. But after Hurricane Katrina, then the oil spill, he was losing money fast. He invested in a crab boat, and headed up to Bering Sea. He knew Nico had contacted Mal to let him knw about the rookie Captain.

Rookie Captain was right.

Richard ended up in a dangerous situation and if it wasn’t for Liefr he wouldn’t have made it out of it alive. He was so thankful the other Captain was everything all the rumors had said and should up to pull his crew off the ice flow.

Heath was born a fisherman. His father was a fisherman, his grandfather and so forth. He always knew he would be a fisherman. He remembered his mother crying when his father’s ship the Cosntant Vigil had gone down, all hands lost at sea. He remembered her crying when he stepped on his first boat.

He couldn’t tell her that he was called to the sea.

There was no other place for him but on the deck of a ship.

Heath started off as a greenhorn on the North Star. He had admired Liefr, her Captain, and wanted to study under him.

Liefr was an asshole. Rode his men hard. But he always kept them safe and brough the catch in.

It wasn’t until he got extremely sick, when he discovered the truth about Liefr. He had a cough before going out to the Bering Sea, by the time they were half way through their set it turned to phenomia.

Liefr didn’t give him much of a choice, and Heath took the opportunity presented.

Shaw lost her parents when she was younger, and ended up in foster care for most of her teenager life.  She had gone to medical school, but was told she didn’t have the right ‘bedside manner’ – so she joined the US Marines.

She was recruited out of the Marines into NSA, from there she ended up working what she would discover ‘relevant numbers’.  When they decided to retire her, she was recruited by John Reese.

It took her less than six weeks to figure out there was more going on than two idiots working to help people.  When she confronted them about the lack of a heart beat they tried to work their way around it, she pointed out she does have a medical degree.

She didn’t have an interest in being Turned, didn’t see the point.  Until a Number went bad, and she lay dying and Joss gave her the opportunity.
