Sylum Updates/Reminders

Quick Update/Reminders

  • The Wiki is the best place to get history of characters and clans.  If you’re ever confused about anything there, can reply to the character or clan post and I’ll answer to the best ability.
  • The Archive has all the Canon Stories.  All non-canon stories are on the Old Archive (Link can be found on the links list and the menu on top of the blog).  In time the Old Archive will be deleted, but at the moment it’s still up mainly because Family & Evolution are being updated.
  • I finished Chapter 2 of Family and working on 3 (this is the most I’ve gotten done in a while as I finally have energy and the will to working on things!)
  • The Wiki is still being updated via images and bio formats
  • If you have questions you can email (sylumclan@gmail.com) – please note I don’t check the email daily so it may take a few days to get back to you.
  • I think that’s it for the moment …

Spring Fling 2022: Sign Up Reminder

Reminder!!!

So here’s my call out to everyone!   Come on join us in this insanity that is called Sylum!

There is a lot you can do for Spring Fling, that doesn’t involve writing a story.

  • Aesthetics
  • Artwork
    • Digital (wallpapers, designs specific for phones/tablets)
    • Memes (make something up that fits Sylum)
    • Original (draw, paint then scan or take a picture)
  • Fanmix (make a playlist of songs for your favorite character, pairing or clan) – You don’t even have to download songs or make a cover  … you can. build it and set it up via Spotify!
  • Fanvids (you don’t have to make a hollywood production, can do a slide show set to music)

What do you need to do to participate?

You will need to sign up and state what your interested in doing.  There are over 1000 characters (actually I think we’re hitting just up to 1200) so many need representation!!

How do I sign up?

There are two ways to sign up!

  • Email: sylumclan@gmail.com – put SPRING FLING in Subject and let us know what your interested in doing
  • Reply to this Post: Just hit reply with what you’re interested in doing and contact info for us to get a hold of you.

Sign Ups close February 15th.  If we do not get your request, by the 15th it will not be included.

Is there a deadline of when the Art/Video/Fanmix needs to be Finished?

Yes!

  • Posts will be made through March on the blog for participants can check in.
  • All art/videos/fanmixs will need to finished and emailed to (sylumclan@gmail.com) by April 3rd.  For those who have drawn something for Spring Fling – please scan to jpg and send via email.
  • Spring Fling will start April 17th

Sylum Inspiration: Thomas Magnum

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV was born 1944. Both his father and grandfather were naval officers.

He was born in Detroit, but raised in the region of Tidewater, Virginia. In high school, his football team won a Virginia State football championship. Some members of his family, including his mother and her second husband, still reside there.

Magnum attended the United States Naval Academy then served ten or more years as an officer in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before resigning from the service in disillusionment in 1979.

Magnum was a Vietnam War veteran and a former POW who believed his wife Michelle died in bombing during the final pull-out from Saigon. He served in both the SEALs and Naval Intelligence during his Navy years, and as such maintained many contacts in both communities.

After he retired he moved to Hawaii where he became a Private Investigator. He ended up working for Robin Nest as security personnel, in exchange of room and board, and use of his Ferrari. His boss was Higgins, who he suspected of being Nest, but could never prove it.

When he was shot defending Higgins, he found out at least some of Higgins’ secrets and accepted being Turned.

Sylum Inspiration: Lyca

Dilios Note: What we do know is they started life as wolves – well what Humans would call wolves, I’m not sure what the term for them was where they came from. They were protectors of ‘The Diplomat’ and first experiments of the ‘Wraith Cure’ from The Doctor. When the Wraith attacked Atlantis, they escaped through the Stargate along with Viduus to Earth.

The first time they lived as Human was the beginning of Ancient Rome. Rumors have it that it was Lyca, the she-wolf, that raised Remus and Romulus.

Sometime in AD, Lyca gave birth to three boys. This is when they state, they were fully Human, with the wolf heritage under the skins.

Dilios Note: The werewolf legend is likely to have come from them. Though they don’t have to turn at the full moon, it does bring more animal instincts out.
