Random Post: Sloths

Sloths have been mentioned before in Sylum.

Actually Sloths play a very big role in Sanctuary Clan.  The Clan runs a Sloth Sanctuary,  which was started by Stephen, along with helping take care of the local rain forest and other exotic animals.

But Sloths themselves are very special and an intricate part of Sanctuary.  I mean just about everyone knows Jack Harkness usually has a Sloth attached to him at all times, much to Spike’s dismay.

So why am I bring this up now?

For two reasons, okay three.

One: Sloths are adorable!! Look at that face!!

Two: We’ve shown Harkness takes care of the adult Sloths at Sanctuary, we’ll be showcasing soon, who takes care of the tiny little ones … wrapping them in his Cashmere Scarves.

Three: Scottish Exotic Animal Veterinarian

That’s all I’m saying about that ….

Boxing Day Results

Sorry this is late!! I was distracted with bunnies

So the winner is – Nico.

They had been annoying him for the past few days, weeks, hell months and on bad days centuries.  Don’t get him wrong, Nico loved his kids, but there were days those two were the smartest dumb asses he knew.

The past year had been stressful, and it hadn’t helped when he disappeared for six months.

Though it really wasn’t his fault.

After all it was Shep who kidnapped him, stating that O’Neill had ordered him to – Nico pointed out that Shep didn’t work for O’Neill anymore, but that didn’t seem to phase him.

The theory was, what better than to have a Roman, deal with Rome.

They had a point.

By the time he got back, all he wanted was to relax and be with his family.  Instead he ended up with John announcing his presence and Ernesto discovering about Sofya and everything that came with that revelation.

From that point , he had wanted the year to end.

Then came the disastrous Christmas Eve Dinner.

It was the first year he had all his kids together for dinner.  And it went exactly how he had thought it would.  He was still pissed at Warrick for ditching him in the middle of it.

So by the time Boxing Day rolled around … yeah he had it with his kids.

The moment he heard the ‘Papist’ ‘Pagen’ start up at 7 am, he was out the back door and in the middle of the infamous fight.

He left them both moaning on the grass, a good reminder of why they didn’t mess with their Papa.  Without a backwards glance he made his way back into the house, collected his winnings, and dragged his Mate upstairs.

Sunday Information: Dark Tower Series

As the themes for the Calendar and Inspiration will change each month, Sunday’s post will be a reflection of the previous Monday Inspiration.

So since Roland Deschain was Sylum Inspiration on Monday, today we’ll be showcasing The Dark Tower.

The Dark Tower Series is written by Stephen King … okay I’m not a big fan of Stephen King, but I do have these books downloaded into my kindle.  When I have more free time *hahahahaha* I’ll start reading them.

The movie from what I know is not based off the series, but is supposed to take place after them, I haven’t actually seen the movie yet … but the character looked interesting enough to play in Sylum.

The Eve of New Years Eve Bunny Extravaganza

Advent is usually very quiet, working on other projects, setting up ideas, events … etc for Sylum for the upcoming year.

There has been epic plotting sessions from time to time.

The Christmas/Boxing Day Bunny of 2015 was Epic enough that it changed where Sylum was going – instead of an ending we had the End of the Beginning.

This year’s Christmas was fairly quiet.  To the point we made the mistake of saying – ‘so what no major plotting session from Bob’

Big Mistake.

The eve before New Years Eve, there was a knock on the door and a box filled with bunnies.

It was an all day plotting EVENT!  No seriously starting at 9am, during coffee that lasted all the way into the night.  Maybe a stop for food and bathroom breaks, though I think a few bunnies snuck under the bathroom door.

It’s good plots.

Good stories.

Great characters.

Though SERIOUSLY!!

*stares at Bob and Bob 2 – who only smirk and run around on the couch*

Like I don’t have enough stuff to do!!

So to be the evil tease that I am … a few things that came from it.

Development of Heather’s networks of Pleasure Houses:  Additional Madams and one Master – in LA, DC, and London.

Junctions and Characters that bring together other storylines, that kind were hanging off the edge.

2 very interesting Triad pairings *cackles*

So what does a Scottish Exotic Animal Veterinarian, MI:6 Spy, American Cowboy, Revolutionary, Historian, and a Intergalactic Passport Control have in common…

Well you’ll just have to wait and see.

Please Read: Sylum Warnings

We’ve had discussions on this before.

I’ve written similar essays on our Modern Sensibilities.

And as we approach Advent, along with the next chapter of Clan War, I thought it would be a good time to remind people of one of Sylum’s basic things.

We don’t do individual story Warnings.

We never have.

We never will.

Sylum has one basic Warning …

Any and all Sylum Stories can and will have the following:

graphic violence, graphic sex (slash & het), torture, character death, abuse (mental, sexual, & physical), incest, rape, non-con, appropriate language for time periods (aka: derogatory terms & names), underage sex, kinks … the list goes on.

As writers, our job is to tell a story.  Tell the best story that we can.  We don’t shy away from controversial subjects, nor do we whitewash history.  Our job is not to hold the readers’ hand, or make sure they always comfortable.

This may sound harsh but it’s true.

You don’t always have to like it.

You don’t always have to read it.

Hell, I’m sure that at some point you will feel uncomfortable while reading this vast multiple character universe, as it does incorporate everything.

We work to be as historically accurate as we can, and as we know already, history is not always pretty.

We will explore sexuality in all of its assorted shapes and sizes – from simple pleasures to all styles of kinks, with everything in between.

We don’t shy away from religion of any type, and show the good, the bad, and the very ugly.

There are times we’ll dive into the degradation of society, and the horrific crimes that are committed.

We get that there are moments, places, and things that will upset people.  It’s not our intent to purposely upset someone, but it’s not our job to make sure we don’t upset you either.

So on that note.

Advent is coming up … we have 32 days of fics, artworks and videos coming your way.
