Spring Fling: 2021 / Sylum Events1

Spring Fling 2021: Sign Ups

Yes it is actually that time!

Okay guys, lets make this year better than last!  If you’re interested in participating, please sign up.

There is a lot you can do for Spring Fling, that doesn’t involve writing a story.

  • Aesthetics
  • Artwork
    • Digital (wallpapers, designs specific for phones/tablets)
    • Memes (make something up that fits Sylum)
    • Original (draw, paint then scan or take a picture)
  • Fanmix (make a playlist of songs for your favorite character, pairing or clan)
  • Fanvids (you don’t have to make a hollywood production, can do a slide show set to music)

What do you need to do to participate?

You will need to sign up and state what your interested in doing

How do I sign up?

There are two ways to sign up!

  • Email: sylumclan@gmail.com – put SPRING FLING in Subject and let us know what your interested in doing
  • Reply to this Post: Just hit reply with what your interested in doing and contact info for us to get a hold of you.

Sign Ups close February 16th.  If we do not get your request, by the 9th it will not be included.

Is there a deadline of when the Art/Video/Fanmix needs to be Finished?

Yes!

  • Posts will be made through March on the blog for participants can check in.
  • All art/videos/fanmixs will need to finished and emailed to (sylumclan@gmail.com) by March 25th.  For those who have drawn something for Spring Fling – please scan to jpg and send via email.
  • Spring Fling will start April 4th

Sylum Inspiration: Briar Rose

Passion Kin Clan: Archivist/Librarian

Briar Rose was the only daughter of one of the merchants in the village near Lady Claire’s Castle and Vineyard.  She was the miracle baby, and her parents always knew she was a blessing.

She was headstrong and wanted more than to get married and have children. She ended up working in the Castle, making friends with Snow White. The two became fast friends, taking care of the Castle and Lady Claire.

When the Lady approached them about a new life, they took it.

State of the Clan: 2021

State of the Clan

Well it’s 2021.

We’ll start with that and work our way forward.

I’ll be honest and had been tempted to just copy paste State of the Clan from 2020, but lets not repeat last year!  No.  Let’s not.

We all know last year was rough, and so far this month has been stressful.  The most important thing I can ever state, is that Sylum is and will always be a safe place.  I rarely, if ever will bring up politics.

There are always a few exceptions to the rule – I will make a comment on anything that has an impact on Sylum.  I will also do check ins to make sure Clan Members, who are being affected by an event, are doing okay.

And well there are some things that goes beyond politics and that is memes.  So here’s the one political/not political thing I’ll be posting.  Some of you may have seen the Bernie Meme going around the internet … basically someone got a photo of him from the Inauguration and it was photoshopped into everything.  Sylum not withstanding.

Sylum Inspiration: Javert

Javert was born in prison, and learned to defend himself quickly. One of the Prison Guards took him under his wing, taught him how to read through the Bible. He got him released and under his authority. He made sure Javert was raised with morality and honor. Leading him into become a Police Inspector.

His life will change drastically when he stumbles over Jean Valjean again after twenty years. In the end it leads him to questioning everything he knew and thought about morality and justice.

In the end it was taken from his hands.

Pastry Day

Actually Pastry Day was December 9th but WordPress was cranky and hadn’t posted it.

It took me way to long to notice it.  So I put it to the side for a random day.
