Sylum Inspiration: Azazel

Oceania: Hunter

 

The tales around who Azazel is and where he comes from is legendary.

Some say he was a fallen angel from heaven.  Others say he was part of the Neyaphem, and was at war with the Cheyarafim, who banished his people to another dimension.  Only Azazel escaped due to his teleporting capabilities.

When asked how old he really is, and where he comes from he only smiles.

There are legends through history that talk about the ‘red devil’ or a demon who just appears in front of you seeking your soul.

But the first time recorded history of Azazel is in the Caribbean, and Captain Jack Sparrow.

There’s Cinderella with Wenceslaus. 

Also Scheherazade and 1001 Stories.   

And coming soon – Swan Lake.

It’s California Day.

It’s actually not the day California became a state, that would be September 9th.

This is just a day to recognize the Golden State.

As a California native, I’m taking the day off 🙂

Sylum Inspiration: Roland Deschain

Oceania: Hunter

 

Roland was born into slavery, on a plantation in South Carolina.  When the war broke out between the states, his father took the advantage and fled with him and his mother.  He found himself out west, moving from town to town.  His mother had taught him how to read, and his father taught him how to survive.

He learned quickly to use a gun, became known for his natural skills.

And when a posse came for him, he ran.

Roland ended up in Australia, if you ask him how, he really couldn’t tell you.  He used his skills to help those he could, and in time found himself protecting the aborigines and those who were being pushed out of their lands by wealthy men with power.

He kept to his father’s code:

I do not aim with my hand;
He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand;
He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun;
He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.

It was Jake who finally caught up with him, along with Dundee and Quigley.  They sat him down to explain about Vampires.  He was intrigued by the way they lived their lives, and protection they gave.

So he agreed to be Turned.

Author’s Note:  These are three new characters coming into Sylum.  Story is actually being written, because Speed my beloved other half somehow convinced me – so this is for them.   It’s been a while since got an idea and the story just flows off the fingers (it’s actually kinda nice).

Spring Fling 2022: Last Day to Sign Up

Last Day!!!

So here’s my call out to everyone!   Come on join us in this insanity that is called Sylum!

There is a lot you can do for Spring Fling, that doesn’t involve writing a story.

  • Aesthetics
  • Artwork
    • Digital (wallpapers, designs specific for phones/tablets)
    • Memes (make something up that fits Sylum)
    • Original (draw, paint then scan or take a picture)
  • Fanmix (make a playlist of songs for your favorite character, pairing or clan) – You don’t even have to download songs or make a cover  … you can. build it and set it up via Spotify!
  • Fanvids (you don’t have to make a hollywood production, can do a slide show set to music)

What do you need to do to participate?

You will need to sign up and state what your interested in doing.  There are over 1000 characters (actually I think we’re hitting just up to 1200) so many need representation!!

How do I sign up?

There are two ways to sign up!

  • Email: sylumclan@gmail.com – put SPRING FLING in Subject and let us know what your interested in doing
  • Reply to this Post: Just hit reply with what you’re interested in doing and contact info for us to get a hold of you.

Sign Ups close February 15th.  If we do not get your request, by the 15th it will not be included.

Is there a deadline of when the Art/Video/Fanmix needs to be Finished?

Yes!

  • Posts will be made through March on the blog for participants can check in.
  • All art/videos/fanmixs will need to finished and emailed to (sylumclan@gmail.com) by April 3rd.  For those who have drawn something for Spring Fling – please scan to jpg and send via email.
  • Spring Fling will start April 17th
