Ernesto Olivetti Week: Wrap Up

Ernesto Olivetti Week has comes to a close!

*collapse onto couch*

Please no one mention the name Ernesto for a while ….

This became bigger than we anticipated, but have to say it turned out extremely well.

Thank you to Timothy Quinn for all the hard work dealing with this Italian Bastard.

Thank you to taibhrigh for the updated images for the wiki.

Interesting facts and numbers:

20 posts … 13 more than we anticipated.

11 pieces of Jewelry (don’t forget to stop by and get your Ernesto Inspired Jewelry and Free Gift before time runs out!  We’ll keep ‘Ernesto Olivetti Collection for another week – On June 13th it will be gone!)

and

100 New Pages to Roads Untravelled

I admit this was a fun and creative endeavor, and likely we’ll do something similar in the future.  As a matter of fact we’re already planning ‘Pirate Day’.

Though at the moment I’m recuperating with a bottle of wine on my couch!  So if you don’t see the normal amount of posts next week blame Ernesto.

I hope everyone has enjoyed Ernesto Olivetti Week.  Let us know what your thoughts, feelings, OMG WTF!! on this post … and please let us also know where you are in the world – we’re kinda curious to see how far spread Ernesto’s influence has gone.

North Carolina, USA, and for the most part I enjoyed it very much. TBH I could have lived without the ‘stupid American tourist’ scene in RU, especially since I’m from the south – but hey, your fic, write it how you please. Just as long as you know we’re not ALL that stupid. 😉

  2. I just finished my first read of Roads Untraveled, even though I started reading yesterday. It’s amazing with the added scenes and plot changes. But I know I need to read it again to see what I missed…lol I have really enjoyed this week with the Inspector. I can tell that all of you put in a lot hours on this and I want to say thank you for all your hard work. I truly appreciate all that you do here at Sylum and I’m looking forward to where you lead us next. Awesome job everyone!

OMG, WTF!!! 😉 Thank you so much for this load of work to entertain us so wonderfully. I just reread Roads a couple of months ago but started it again to see what has been changed. I love this story so much!!! And for your information: I live in Schmalensee, a small village (about 450 inhabitants) in the North of Germany.

Dear General, Thank you for this massiv job and so many new information, even if I am sad about some cannon chances concerning Horatio and Speed. I love Ernesto and John and their mates. So thank you and Timothy Quinn for this enhanced works for both stories. By the way I am from Vienna in Austria .

You folks continuously blow me away with the quality of your writing and intricate story lines. You write characters that jump out of the pages at you and become your friends. I absolutely love Ernesto and hope to see lots more of him in the future. Rod McKuen created a website years ago called “A Safe Place to Land” and it was my go to place knowing I would find peace and happiness in his writings. With his passing the website as well disappeared. I have found the same peace and happiness in Sylum and I thank you for all the time you put into it. And I live in the great state of Wisconsin!!

Thank you Christiane, About a month after Rod passed the website address failed and I assumed it was gone for good. As it turns out they changed the web address and I am SO happy you took the time to check it out. My first introduction to Rod’s music and poems was 1969 and he’s been in my life ever since. I feel like an old friend is back. “happy dance”
Thank you again and hugs right back at you.
