Sylum Information: Person of Interest

Person of Interest Characters are not new in Sylum.  Last year or was it the year before that we introduced John and Harold.  The bastards re worked their story so many times it became a nightmare *glares at the two*.

We also introduced Carter and Zoe during Advent, and in time we’ll be introducing Lionel.

But this week we showcased Megan Tillman.

I’m sure many are wondering why such a small side character that we see once, ended up as a character in Sylum.  Megan Tillman was such a real character, she deserved more storyline.  Her pain of losing her sister, determination to go after the rapist, and then realization of this wasn’t who she was and handed the keys to John – is such an emotional scene, we knew she had to be part of sylum.

She’s also going to give House a run for his money (he’ll adore her because she won’t put  up with his shit).

And Harold needs a doctor on staff at all times.

Random Post: New Sylum Pets

As we’ve been highlighting the characters we brought in during Advent, and prepping to showcase a new set coming soon – we’ve decided to introduce some of the new pets that will also have a new home.

The picture above is Cockatoo … yes it’s a Cockatoo.  M who owns this little guy, decided no one would expect Cockatoo of being a spy if it’s name is Cockatoo.

For the rest of the introductions they’ll be under a cut.  Why?  Because I know some people really do not like reptiles or snakes.  Do Not click on the ‘Read More’ link if you do not want to see snakes or reptiles!!

Sylum Information: Private Practice

Naomi Bennet was one of the characters suggested to us during our campaign to find more Woman and Poc characters.  I let the person who suggest them develop the characters, and storylines and looking forward to seeing where its going.

I admit I’ve never seen Private Practice or Grey’s Anatomy so I can’t tell you if it’s worth a trip to Netflix or now – for those of you who have, let us know in the comments.

Sylum Information: The Martian (Book/Movie)

Chris Beck is a character we pulled from The Martian (mainly the movie).   Okay … we admit it – this is how we got Bucky without having Bucky :).

It also a way to build more storyline for the Stargate section of Sylum.  There is some changes in the works for that side of the storyline, just to bring everything in line with canon.

Not a lot.  But well Dan’el decided to change his background and that’s where we’re making some adjustments.

Now I haven’t read The Martian (it’s been downloaded onto my Kindle along with a lot of other books….) so this is going to be an adventure.

The Martin: Book

The Martin: Movie

And keep an eye on future stories where we’ll introduce Beck and give more background for Dan’el.

Sylum Information: Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman was a phenomenal hit in 2017 – if you haven’t seen the movie – go now and see it!

Wonder Woman has been icon for over 75 years showing up in the first comics in 1941.  She has been an inspiration for many girls and woman through out the years.  And it’s great to see the new incarnation just as bold and inspiring.

The history behind the character is very fascinating and there is now a movie about the creator, his wife and girlfriend … yep you read that right.  I haven’t seen the movie, but from what I have heard it’s worth a viewing (it’s on my very long list to see once hits Netflix).

Poll: Sylum Con?

It was brought up to my attention as next year is the 15th Anniversary, that a Sylum Con would be a fun way to celebrate.

If we have one it will be in Los Angeles, likely towards the end of summer/fall 2019.  We’ll need at least 20 people interested, and by interested I mean truly plan to go – not just oh sounds like fun but can’t really make it.  There will be a Con Fee to cover expenses for conference rooms, events, etc.  At this early in the game we’re not sure what that will be, but it would likely start at $100.

As Cons like these are a lot of work, I’m starting this early!  Please fill out the poll below to showcase if you’re truly interested.

Sylum Information: The Secret Service

We had always contemplated bring in Ron Butterfield from West Wing, but at first couldn’t quite figure exactly how.  Then it hit us, to actually take him back to the beginning of the Secret Service.

Okay history time.  As I’ve been doing a lot of research into the Secret Service, this ended up playing directly into Ron’s history.

The Secret Service didn’t exist July 1865 after Lincoln was Assassinated, it was realized that there needed to be a group of people who were dedicating in protecting the President.  Before hand there was the Pinkerton Agency that conducted investigations.

In the history of the Department, they has never been enough money, staff or resources.  It’s almost been seen as ‘oh yes them we forgot about them’.  The Secret Service is supposed to be non-partisan and do their job despite the politics.  There are infamous stories relating back to some of the things they’ve seen and done.

So it worked for Sylum to move Ron back to the days before the Secret Service, and into the makings of what the Secret Service has become today.

Character Answers: Dean Winchester (Take 2)

*Sighs*

Can’t believe we missed an important question for Dean. *click to read previous interview*

*Searches Manor, only to find him back in the kitchen eating Pie where we found him the first time.*

*Slides across from him*

Dean: Didn’t I already speak to you.

Interviewer: Yeah, well one of the questions that was supposed to be in the last interview got misplaced, so here I am again.

Dean: *eats his pie* So what is it? My favorite sexual position?  Boxer or Briefs? What do I find romantic? Do I feel guilty for fucking my brother?

Interviewer: Well if you’re volunteering ….

Dean: *evil sly grin*

Sam: DEAN!

Interviewer: *startles and looks up at Sam wondering where he came from*  Or we could just stick to the questions.

Dean: *shrugs and finishes off his pie*

Interviewer: So how does it feel now to have so many fathers?

Dean: *sets fork down and pushes away plate*  It’s weird.  I mean dad was and will always be dad.  He was a good dad, despite what Sam says.  Yeah he wasn’t PTA, take your kid to work, or baseball game on Saturday type of dad.  But he kept us safe.

Interviewer: And Clay?

Dean: Well that’s just weird.  I mean he looks just like dad.  I could get my head around Bobbie, he was like another parent while growing up.  And looking back I can see him trying to be the dad we needed, when John wasn’t around.  So finding out he was actually my dad in a past life, is kinda cool.  But Clay, well it’s hard to get my head around – I mean I look like his kid, and he looks like my dad.  Knowing how I .. his son died it is the stuff of nightmares.

*Sam came in and sat down next to Dean*

The talking French thing is annoying yet cool.  And he’s a nice guy.  His Mates are nice, Jensen sends me birthday cards so that’s kinda cool.

Interviewer: And Van Helsing.

Dean: *rolls his eyes* It’s like dad by default.  He’s Mated to John so it’s like having two dads and the fact they are both my ‘dads’.  Van Helsing is cool, the ferret is awesome.  Over all we get along.

Interviewer: So you’re good with all the dads?

Dean: *shrugs* yeah it’s nice to talk to someone else sometimes.  And Nico is a good dad-in-law so that’s good.

Interviewer: And your favorite?

Dean: *snickers* Grandpa Eddie though never tell him I said that.

Sylum Information: Night at the Museum

Night at the Museum is actually a fun movie.  Plus it has the benefit of having Pierefrancesco Favino in it.

We’ve actually used a few characters from this movie: Ahkmenrah and Larry Daley. Plus used the images for historical characters: Sacagawea and Teddy Roosevelt.

We’re not having the ability to ‘bring the museum to life’ but we will say the Tablet of Ahkmenrah is very important in the Sylum Universe, and there is a reason Imhotep and Blackwood want it.

If you haven’t seen the movie, I suggest you do.

Added bonus!  One of my Afternoon Fics: Museum of Interest was a fusion of Night at the Museum and Person of Interest.

Sylum Information: Assassins Creed Movie

As Monday Sylum Inspiration was Callum Lynch I figured to post about the Assassin Creed Movie.  Okay first off, we changed a lot around to have the two characters fit within Sylum, mainly by making Callum and Aguilar as twins instead of ancestor/descendant.

Also we don’t have the Animus … yet *cackles*

Now for the movie itself.

As a fan of the games – the movie is shoehorned into their timeline to the point parts of it didn’t work.  Michael Fassbender did a great job as Aguilar and Callum and Jeremy Irons is always great.

I will admit I wasn’t a fan of Maria or Sofia … but that was me.

Now if you don’t know the games, the movie is a lot of fun – it has its cheesy moments and lines, but overall it was okay.

For those who have seen the movie or the video (7 Characters 7 Weeks).  You know the famous ‘leap of faith’ off the church building??

That was a real stuntman – it’s an awesome moment.

So yes – we do have Aguilar and Callum, but there not quite like the way you think they are.

*evil cackle*
