Sylum Snippet

Still working to get at least 2 snippets a month done.   It’s not been easy, work and commuting has taken a lot of time up, but working to get refocused.

So here’s a snippet!  I went over my long list of snippets people wanted to see and snagged a person from that – this one is from a LONG TIME AGO – Stelios

Stelios sat in a darkened theatre with his popcorn and drink, waiting for the movie to start.   Ever since he saw his first moving picture, he was hooked.  He loved going to the movies, and didn’t care if it was good or bad.   Though there had been a few times he hand waved at the screen trying to figure what the hell did he just watch.   He enjoyed the whole experience, though in the modern time, it was a lot less formal, which he did appreciate – dressing up in his finest suit to sit for two hours in a dark theatre was a bit much.

David wasn’t a big movie goer, preferred concerts and clubs.   So when he needed a break, Stelios found himself in a dark theatre enjoying the latest movie.

This one in particular he had to see.   It looked awesome, though completely un-realistic in all things.

David had rolled his eyes when he said he was heading out.

“You’re really going to watch that shite?”

“It looks fun.”

The deadpan stare was enough of an answer.  Stelios had gave him a quick kiss and ran off.

He sat in the dark theatre watching as a group of men fought to hold the pass.

He laughed, cried, cringed, and cheered.

These were his fellow soldiers.   He bled with them, watched them die.   One of two survivors only because of his mother’s blood.

The movie was un practical, yet magical.

As he dumped his popcorn container, and finished he drink he grabbed his cellphone and dialed number two on his speed dial.   David demanding he be number one.

“Did you watch it.” The laughter was enough to know he had.  “How’s Muldoon taking it.”

“He’s not sure if he wants to hunt down Bruce or send him Terror.”

Stelios laughed.  “That’s cruel.”

“Made me miss them.”  Dilios answered emotion in his voice.  “I wish to see more of them return.”

“I know.”  He paused then grinned knowing how to bring back the laughter.  “So you think we could pull off the red loin clothes?”

They both laughed until tears, then plotted to surprise their Mates.   Both may be geeks in some fashion, but they still kept to their Spartan warrior training.
