Sylum Announcement: Tarot on the Green
Hey Guys!
A member of Sylum reached out, that they had started a new type of business. Which is awesome love when you guys reach out to share new things!
They asked kindly if I would make a post on the blog, which I was happy to. They offered that if anyone seeks them out on Etsy for a reading, they would donate 50% of that session to upkeep of Sylum. This was very generous of them, and schedule a post to showcase their new endeavor.
I went ahead and had a reading done, was pretty simple to do – especially as not done that before.

Sylum Inspiration: Matthew Thompason
Sylum: Member
Matt was born in Denver to Mark & Eleanor Thompson. He was their only child, and raised on the family farm, just outside Denver.
His father’s skills helped them through the Depression, and once the New Deal was enacted Matthew took a job as a carpenter in Denver, Colorado. Where he met Rebecca, a local school teacher. The two were engaged, just before he was shipped out to England during the war. Just before he was sent to the South of England to work on Operation Quicksilver she had sent him a letter, stating she had met someone and was getting married.
Matt focused on the job, ended up meeting MacGyver who was helping with the building of the fake planes, tanks and airfields. When Matt tried to break up a drunken fight, he had been shot by accident. MacGyver offered him a chance to live.

Reminder – the character you see, though distinct to a particular show may not be the story used as we stole the ‘actor/character’ and took them out of the confines of the story.
Note: This particular set showcases the leaders for this flock of Murder Birds. Also it’s the one with the most hints of where they come from.

For me: New Orleans will always be my second home. Living there not so much with the humidity.
Sylum Inspiration: Gambit
Vampire Council: Member
Remy first appears in Vampire history with Nicolaus in Rome. He was Nico’s manservant before he got Razi.
From there he’s in and out Vampire Society.
From a few mentions here and there, it’s known that he’s worked with Lamont over the centuries, but has also stayed very loyal to Nico.
It’s Remy who convinced Nico to move to New Orleans and build a Clan. He’s been in New Orleans since, become the the city’s protector.
It was soon after he met Aveline that she told him they were Mates. Besides the fact they are Mates, the two have a very open relationship but always come back to each other.
When Charles builds his school, Remy spends his time between New Orleans and the school to protect and help where he can.
(Dilios Note: It’s not sure if he’s a Mutant but the consensus is that he may be … or not … Update: discovered not a Mutant but a Kryptonian!)

Not sure how it’s March already. Lucky Easter is late this year!
I have more solid ideas, now just to focus on them.
Sylum Big Bang 2025 – Last Day!
Some of you might be like – wait we already signed up! Yes we did do a Sign Up last year, but I wanted to repost Big Bang Sign Ups – as a lot has happened since then.
I have noticed a few who signed up the first time, but not during this session – for those who signed up last time – Still interested?
Information:
Sign Ups – Until March 1st
1st Story Check In – April 1st (Basically Let me know what your plans are)
2nd Story Check In – June 1st (You should have at least half the story finished)
Art Assignments – June 1st (Will connect Writer with Artist)
Story/Art Check Ins – July & August
Story/Art Due – Sept 15th
Story & Art will be posted together first week of October
Writers:
- Stories will have to be at least 25K
- You will need to work with Bj on the storyline
- Suggestions for ideas – there’s a big wiki filled with many characters that do not have stories
- The story will have to be complete when it’s posted in October 2025
- Depending on how many artists sign up – an artist will be assigned in June (at this time you should have over half of the story completed)
- The two of you will have to work with each other on style of art
- Stories will be due in September 15th
Artists:
- There will need to be at least 2 pieces of art and a story banner
- I will work with each artist to pair them with a story/writer
- You will need to work with the writer on style of art for their story
- Artwork will be due in September 15th

I’m always surprised at how short February is.
Did it seem to go fast for you? Or more like FINALLY it’s over?
Though after how long this January seemed to be – I swear it was 6 months! This February felt even shorter.
