National Reptile Awareness Day

National Reptile Awareness Month!

Yes it’s a thing.

Godzilla. Reptar. Yoshi. The Geico Gecko. These are just a few of the famous reptiles we love. But on October 21 it’s National Reptile Awareness Day, a day we celebrate the most cold-blooded of our slithering friends. This day is observed to educate and raise awareness of threats to their natural habitats that our reptilian friends face.

Fun Sylum Snippet in honor of this day, under the ‘read more’

Master David stood on the top of the stairs, watching his Mate with Blue the Iguana.  There were moments he wondered when he ended up with a menagerie of reptiles in his House.

Paul lived a dangerous life, one he rarely spoke about.  The few times he confessed to his Mates about the jobs he failed while they held him, broke both their hearts.  So if they had to put up with an escape artist snake, and a hug loving Iguana – that’s what they did.

“She enjoy her walk?”  He asked leaning against the railing watching as Blue wiggled around the front lobby.

“Got herself a few grasshoppers.”  Paul leaned down at rubbed under her chin.  “I’ll take her around back, let her run a bit before putting her in her atrium.”

“We’re not expecting anyone for a while, how about we grab Joshua and take her for a picnic?”  David moved down the stairs, giving him a soft smile.  “Make out on the picnic blanket.”

“Blue can protect the food from ants.”  He reached out and pulled David closer, kissing him softly.

“Hey can I get in this?” Joshua hollered across the room. “Look at all the cuteness.” He reached down and patted Blue, then smiled at his Mate. “You two are also hot.”

“David wants public sex on a picnic blanket.”

“I could go for lunch.” Joshua winked at the two of them. “We’re taking our girl?”

Paul blushed lightly.  “I can take her home first …”

David put a hand on his arm. “I invited both of you, besides didn’t you know it’s Reptile Awareness Day?”

“What?”  Paul looked at him confused. “Never heard of it.”

“It’s an American thing, but considering our gal and the escape artist I figured we should celebrate.”  David moved to wrap his arms around Paul’s waist.  “Though we’re leaving Reginald in his cage.”

Joshua laughed, before leaning over to kiss Paul quickly and grab the leash.  “You and I both know he’s already escaped.  You two get the picnic supplies, Blue and I are going to hunt down the perfect spot.”

Paul looked down at David giving him a rare true smile, then kissed him.  “Thank you.”
