Se questa è la polizia vaticana, arrestatemi pure subito.

Paulo stared at the headline of the newspaper in shock, dismay and pride.   He glanced across the bull pen, noticing that the Inspector wasn’t in his office, nor was his deputy.  He wondered if he could hide the newspaper, but then noticed at least three other officers had a copy.

“Do you think we have enough time to get rid of it?”  Tomas, his counterpart from the Swiss Guard asked.

He counted the papers he could see, calculating the possibility.  “We could call a drill then grab all the ones left behind.”

Tomas nodded, working through the scenarios.  “We would need to do reconnaissance to make sure there isn’t any laying around the Vatican.”

“Do we have enough men we trust to do that and not show the Inspector?” Paulo shifted at his desk, ready to call a drill it was good to keep the men on their toes.

When their plans went straight to hell with the man in White.

Both men sighed and slumped back into their desks.

“Is the Inspector in?”  The Pope asked with a slight grin on his face, with a familiar paper in his hands.

“Your Holiness.”

Pius turned around smiling brightly.  “Ernesto.  How are you this morning?”

“I’m good.”  His eyes narrowed in suspicion.

“Have you read the newspaper by any chance?”

Paulo stood quickly, moving around his desk to hand the Inspector a folder with reports he needed to sign.  “Here’s the reports you requested, sir.”

Ernesto took hold of the folder, eyeing Paulo as he was pushed towards his office, not missing the side-eye he was giving the Pope of all people.  “Okay what is going on.”  He stopped any forward movement, and looked at the bull pen, noticing instantly the shifting gazes and the widely grinning Pope.

Paulo sighed and handed him the newspaper.

There on the front page was a picture of Carlos, Pierre and himself chatting as they step outside one of the Vatican buildings.  He remembered the moment it was only a few days ago, they just finished a meeting with finance about budgets.

The picture was actually nice, it was the caption under the photo that had caught his attention:

If this is the Vatican Police, they can arrest me.

He rolled his eyes, fully expecting the messages from his Mate, Sire, and children.   He glanced over to Pius who was holding the newspaper.  “Your Holiness.”

“It would seem I’m the envy of many being surrounded by such…”  He paused looked at the article and in perfect innocence.  “Hotness.”

Ernesto couldn’t help the laughter, he reached over and grabbed the paper and shooed the Pope off to Mass, who was chuckling on the way out.

“Make sure Chartrand and Oliveria get copies.”  He ordered as he headed into his office.  As he sat down his phone began to buzz he sighed before checking his messages, then grinned at the picture of handcuffs Kiernan sent.  He was looking forward to seeing his Mate later that evening.

Here’s the moving image (which I won’t bitch on how hard that was to get no really you wouldn’t think it would you but it was a pain in the backside).  Also there’s a cool black/white image that came out while trying to get the right image of these guys.
