It’s Cowboy Day!
I guess y’all can get out the hat and gear up for a horseback ride 🙂
With that comes a Sylum Snippet
Paul sat down on the log and stared at the open fire. They had rode for most of the day, only stopping to set up camp.
It had actually been his idea. Joshua and David had worked hard to make sure he was comfortable. They had a getaway made with an encloser for blue to be comfortable. Hell, they also had a dragon hobbit hole to make sure Cloudjumper was comfortable. It was time he did something for them.
He suggested Joshua show them where he was from. Paul had been in the United States, mostly though stuck to the major cities. So the trip to Colorado was new. Matt and Richard had put them up for a couple of days, let them use the Ranch House as a staging area. Richard, bless him, even prepped meals for their ride.
David had talked about how the area had change slightly since he had last seen it at the turn of the 20th century.
Paul stayed quiet mostly, just listening to Joshua talk about his life as a cowboy.
“How are you doing?” Joshua asked settling next to him. “I’m sure horseback riding isn’t a required skill for Double-Os.”
“Oh you would be surprised.” He smirked over at him. “Just was trained in an English saddle, even wore those fancy riding outfits.”
“Do you still have them?” David asked as he settled across the fire.
“No.”
“Shame.” He gave him a wink. “Looks like a few friends stopped by.”
Paul glanced over to see a few lizards watching them. He shooed them away, before getting up to get their prepared meals.
They enjoyed their meals, talking softly just taking the time to be with each other.
Paul leaned against Joshua just relaxing letting the softness of the situation lulling him into a light sleep. He felt Joshua’s arm around his waist and heard David’s voice, but was too comfortable to move.
Joshua smiled over at David. “Best way to spend Cowboy Day!”
