Badgers are amazing creatures, and also not to be fucked with. The most interesting thing I read (while prepping for this post) was the fact there has been known sightings of Badgers and Coyotes hunting together. Theres a thought that will stick for a while.

Walter leaned against the wall watching his Mate befriend a badger.
They weren’t necessarily vicious animals, but provoked or if they felt trapped they could be deadly.
And yet there sat his Mate with a badger in his lap getting under the chin scritches. If he tried to do it, he likely would have a missing finger.
“I can’t believe he lets you pet him.” Walter looked over to see Boone standing a safe distance. “I get near one of those and he’s after my balls.”
“He knows you hunted his ancestors.” Ray gave him a smirk. “Besides Tom is friendly.”
“You named the badger Tom?” Daniel shook his head.
“He likes it.” He ran a hand down the rough fur, giving the ears a good scritch. “Him and Jerry were hunting last night.”
Boone glanced over to Walter, then back at Raymond. “I’m going to regret asking. Who’s Jerry?”
“They coyote.” Ray pointed over his shoulder to the sleeping coyote under the shade of the porch.
“Shouldn’t it be Wiley?”
“Why?” Ray gave him a confused look. “His name is Jerry.”
Walter bit back a chuckle at Daniel’s expression, Ray really was a little shit and had the greatest deadpan expression.
Boone shook his head, then glanced at Walter. “You’re good with his new pets?”
“They will attack anything that gets to close to Ray. I’m good with it.”
Boone nodded in understanding, wondering if he should get Davy an attack Badger. “We should get a daschound.”
Ray’s eyes narrowed, holding Tom closer. “Don’t even think about it.”
“They would probably become buds with my luck.” Boone gave one last look then wandered off, taking the long way to the door.
