For this years Birthday Fun – I’m putting out snippets and a few AI Images.
So for today snippet – comes from a request to have M talking with Max about their boys.
M sat down at the small table in the back corner of her favorite bistro. She smiled at the person already sitting there. “I see they have your favorite tea back in stock.”
Max glanced over as she sipped the tea, then sat it back down on the plate. “Yes. The owner was quiet reassuring that it will never be out of stock again.”
The older woman smiled, as the waitress set down a cup of coffee and a plate of delicious looking treats in the middle of the table. “No talk about business. I have had enough of that today, actually this week, and it’s only Tuesday.”
Max snorted then grabbed a treat. “How are the boys?”
“James is doing his thing.” M waved a hand in the air. “Craig is taking time to be with Yev, they’re up in Scotland. Hilary is spending time in Morocco, enjoying the weekend. Spa day, some good food, gambling and hunting down an international assassin. Paul is in Asia dealing with Hannibal.”
“Have I met Hannibal?” Max asked trying to place the name.
“You would remember if you did.” She rolled her eyes, though Hannibal was annoying he was loyal to Paul and a good friend. “He’s a rambunctious puppy.” She sipped her coffee. “And yours?”
“My Ethan does to much, as I’m sure you know the feeling.” She took a sip of her tea then set it down. “Too many times he’s been at my place recovering as it’s one of the safest outside Rio. I’m not happy that Lamont has seemed to stick his nose into IMF.”
“I heard some rumors through the network.” M frowned as she leaned back in her chair. A few of her colleagues from across the pond and informed her about a shake up in the CIA and IMF. It was settled after the arrest of Solomon Lane, a nazi asshole a few of them had dealings with during the war. Finding out he was still around was disturbing. It was bad enough to deal with young idiots who thought being a nazi was a good idea, having actual nazi’s still around was not helpful. “How is Ethan doing?”
“Saving the world.” She shrugged. “Luther on the other hand is a vicious bastard and I adore him dearly.”
“It’s always the hackers.”
They both chuckled. “I’m actually surprised our boys haven’t worked together.”
“It probably a good thing.” M wasn’t sure if the world was ready for that type of mission. Or maybe it was when the world was desperate they would be ready for the mission.
“At least for now.” Max gave her a knowing smile. “There’s a sale going on a Harrods.”
“Shopping therapy is a must.”

I am intrigued….Happy Birthday!
Sounds like a really super way to spend a birthday. Watching over the kids from afar but always ready to step in if needed. Thanks.
It’s lovely that they have a good friendship with each other!
