Ben Vereen, Sammy Davis, Jr., Lola Falana, Lesley Uggams, Eartha Kitt (meow), Clarence Williams III (I was a Mod Squad fangirl), James Earl Jones (that voice), Levar Burton, Denzel Washington, Roots (the original), North & South. Probably a truckload more that I can’t pull out of my memory.
Angela Bassett, Levar Burton, The police captain on Law & Order, Avery Brooks ST:Deep Space Nine. Especially Angela Bassett. And more recently the women portrayed in the Hidden Figures movie. I didn’t know!! And I’m with Paula, there’s a truckload in my memory that I can’t access right now.
