Recently I was on the phone talking with a friend, and in mist of the conversation, old opportunities came up. \u00a0 It brought up how different life would be if these opportunities were taken.<\/p>\n

The one that stuck in my mind the most was an opportunity for me to take a job across the country. \u00a0 This would’ve changed my life drastically. \u00a0I would’ve been away from family and anything I knew. \u00a0They didn’t want to pay my asking price or relocation, so I turned it down. \u00a0\u00a0I ended up joining a Yahoo Group soon after that, and started writing some of my first fanfic – which will never see the light of day EVER! *shifty look* \u00a0Six months later I met the Ex, who introduced me to CSI … a year and half\u00a0later – Lost Son was aired.<\/p>\n

The say the rest is history.<\/p>\n

Because of Sylum\u00a0I’ve met some of the most amazing people. \u00a0Made some awesome friends. \u00a0Had grand gathering adventures. \u00a0But the most\u00a0important thing Sylum brought me was my soulmate, who I married.<\/p>\n

Sylum has given me the opportunity to write in ways I never felt possible, to the now wonderful adventure of being published, something I never would’ve thought possible all those years ago.<\/p>\n

I look at my life and despite the drama, the trauma, and the what the actual fucks – I wouldn’t change it for anything.<\/p>\n

So thinking back onto that moment fifteen years ago … I’m thankful I didn’t take that road. \u00a0Because I really don’t want to think about the what if – Sylum had never been born.<\/p>\n

And with that. \u00a0I send my thanks to all those that have followed this road with me. \u00a0I send my love to those who have touched my life – you know who you are. \u00a0And most importantly I can never thank God enough for bringing my spouse into my life.<\/p>\n
