Recently we’ve had newbies and some poor souls that have stumbled onto Sylum with no idea what the crazy is all about. \u00a0I figured it was time to do a ‘Sticky Post<\/em>‘ to help all those who wander into the Manor, navigate around this vast universe.<\/p>\n

So here\u00a0we go.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re new here, welcome!! \u00a0You\u2019ve just been recommended to this vast multi-story universe, and you likely have no idea where to go or what to do.<\/p>\n

Well first off.<\/p>\n

Fact:<\/strong>\u00a0Vampires exists.<\/p>\n

Second.<\/p>\n

Welcome to Sylum Clan.<\/p>\n

A multi-layered, character driven storyverse.<\/p>\n

Inspiration for the first story that effectively launched this concept, was the death of Timothy \u2018Speed\u2019 Speedle from the Television Series\u00a0CSI: Miami<\/em>.<\/p>\n

His implausible and much mourned demise, led to the premise that\u00a0you can\u2019t kill someone if they\u2019re already dead<\/i>.<\/p>\n

This quite literally immortalized him, birthing the first story\u00a0Kiss of Death, and the rest just kept on growing,\u00a0sprawling \u00a0across more than 7,000 years of unexpected history, and on into the future.<\/p>\n

A few things you should know, so you can\u2019t say we didn\u2019t warn you *grins*. \u00a0There are 3 Major Story Arcs, and hundreds of Supplemental Stories. \u00a0These stories expand across 13 Clans, 7 Kin Clans, and showcase over 1200 Characters.<\/p>\n

We just hit our 15th Anniversary in 2020!<\/p>\n

What do I\u00a0read first?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Start where it all began. \u00a0Clan War.<\/p>\n

Clan War 10th Anniversary<\/a> is the new version, and should be the first thing you read.\u00a0 Afterwards, if you are daring, read the earlier version of Clan War<\/a> that spawned this great and vast series.\u00a0 \u00a0From there you will want to read Hell Week<\/a> and Hurricane Season<\/a>.\u00a0 Which leads you to the rest of the Arcs.\u00a0 At the moment we’re in the process of editing the remaining Arcs: Family<\/a> and Evolution<\/a>. Even though there have been changes – you can read both of these Arcs with little problems.<\/p>\n

If you ever get confused or something clashes. \u00a0Reply to This Post<\/a> or email us (sylumclan@gmail.com) we will help you navigate through this wide and at times unruly Universe that is Sylum.<\/p>\n

Once you’ve finished the Arcs, you can start reading the many side stories that supplement the Arcs and bring in additional characters and clans.<\/p>\n

Where do I find these stories?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Archive<\/a> of course.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: All stories, videos, artwork, and wiki are\u00a0under the password protected section of the Manor. \u00a0Go Here<\/a> to get access.<\/em><\/p>\n

2nd Note:<\/strong> To access the stories on the Archive you’ll need to create a username\/password.\u00a0 This is not the same one referenced above – it’s individual to you.<\/p>\n

How do I find references to characters I don\u2019t know?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Sylum Wiki<\/a> was created just for that reason. \u00a0There are many ways to navigate around the wiki blog. \u00a0It just depends if you\u2019re looking for a specific actor, character, or want to browse through a Clan.<\/p>\n

Okay I’ve spent the past week reading everything – what now?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

We have three events a year to showcase Sylum Artwork, Videos and Stories.<\/p>\n

Spring Fling<\/strong>: which will always start on Easter Sunday<\/p>\n

Seven Days of Summer<\/strong>: \u00a0July 1st – 7th<\/p>\n

Sylum Advent<\/strong>: December 1st – January 1st<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>he Sylum Writers and Artists in any given year – <\/strong>will producer over 60<\/span> pieces of new fic, art, and video!!! \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

*Blink* That’s a lot of work – How do I help\/support the Sylum Community?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Feedback<\/strong>! \u00a0Feedback<\/em>! \u00a0Feedback<\/strong>! \u00a0I can’t stress this enough – Feedback<\/strong><\/em>! Take the five extra seconds and reply to a fic\/art\u00a0post and leave a comment – especially during Sylum Events. \u00a0It doesn’t have to be a 1000 word essay, but a few words will go a long way.<\/p>\n

Donations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

It costs $150 a year to host sylumclan.com, this includes the main site, the blog, and the wiki. \u00a0On top of it we pay for data backup and spam protection.<\/p>\n

The Hosting Fees are just a small portion of what goes into building and maintaining Sylum. \u00a0I’m not the type of person, nor is any of our Artists or Writers, to ask for money. \u00a0All of us do this because we love Sylum. \u00a0We love the characters, the ‘fandom’ we’ve created, the people, and even the Bobs.<\/p>\n

On a personal note, Sylum is a\u00a0second job, and\u00a0I’ve\u00a0spent a lot of time and money to keep it\u00a0going. \u00a0And\u00a0as Sylum has grown and expanded beyond anything I\u00a0ever imagined, I\u00a0can honestly say I\u00a0need help.<\/p>\n

We set up a yearly campaign to raise money for Sylum.<\/p>\n
