David watched as his Mate packed a bag in a rush.\u00a0 \u00a0He hadn’t heard about any missions, the family was quiet – which may or may not be a good thing, he wasn’t quite sure.\u00a0 \u00a0There were no emergencies, Scurlock wasn’t threatening to ship anyone to Knight clan, and the geese had already migrated onwards.<\/p>\n
“Why are you packing?”<\/p>\n
“I need to be out of this house by tonight.”\u00a0 Daniel muttered as he ran his hands through his longer hair, only to pause and pull it back and secure it with the band he always has around his wrist.<\/p>\n
Well that seemed dramatic, but then it’s not new.<\/p>\n
“Why?\u00a0 Dom and cohorts are at a race.\u00a0 \u00a0Ringo and Holliday is on a hunt.\u00a0 \u00a0Even Teaspoon is occupied with planning the perfect Anniversary date for Missouri.”<\/p>\n
Daniel shoved the jeans into the bag, then looked at his Mate.\u00a0 “Do you know what day it is tomorrow?”<\/p>\n
“Should I?”\u00a0 He pulled up his phone scrolling through the calendar hoping he hadn’t missed an anniversary of something.<\/p>\n
He sighed, then zipped his bag.\u00a0 “Daniel Boone day.\u00a0 It’s one of those stupid National Days.\u00a0 You know what this means.”<\/p>\n
David blinked a few times, tried so hard not to laugh only for it to escape.\u00a0 \u00a0He knew exactly what was going to happen.<\/p>\n
“You packed for me?”<\/p>\n
“Yeah.”<\/p>\n
“Let’s get the hell out of here.”\u00a0 He kissed his Mate quickly.\u00a0 Daniel was always the one who stopped anyone from singing the David Crockett song, so at least he could do is help him escape.\u00a0 \u00a0The fact he texted the worst instigators about the fact there was a Daniel Boone day was for him to know and his Mate never to find out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
