It’s National Bird Day – so it’s totally Nick’s Day!

Shep walked into Nick’s office, smiling at the plaque he had gifted his Sire. “I see it’ still here so at least you didn’t throw it out the window or let the birds have it.”

Nico just gave him a look, and went back to signing the million documents Artemus had tossed him. Being a Clan Leader was mostly bueacratic with rushes of invasions and betrayals. Or at least that how it seemed in the past couple of decades. “One of the parakeets likes to sit on it.”

He laughed lightly then sat down in one of the chairs in front of the desk. “It’s National Bird Day.”

“Oh I know. So far I’ve gotten at least a dozen text messages and voicemails letting me know. Even Hannibal got in on it, and sent me photos of some of the exotic birds in the New York zoo.” He didn’t look up just kept signing, he had lunch planned with Warrick in the atrium with his birds.

“Well just so you know.” He leaned forward and set a small stuffed bird on his desk. He had found it in Target, they had a whole slue of them. He was set for a while, as fun gifts for his Sire.

Nico set the pen down and picked up the bird, smiling at the little beanie and scarf. With a small laugh he got up and put it on a shelf filled with other stuffed birds. “Want to help me with this paperwork?”

“No.” Shep grinned. “But would love to spend time with you so hand me a stack.”
