Here’s a snippet that doesn’t belong to anyone!\u00a0 And believe me after last year’s fun ‘trivia’ I have a long list.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“Time to go!”\u00a0 Patrick grabbed his jacket, slipping it on as he headed for Edgar’s desk.\u00a0 “I finished my paperwork, and there isn’t a murdering bastard around at the moment.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Poe glanced up from his parchment.\u00a0 “And?”<\/span><\/p>\n

“And that means we can leave.”\u00a0 He took the quill from his Mate’s hand, gently putting it in it’s case, then closed the ink pot.\u00a0 “The annoying racoon is fed and sound asleep, it’s our time to escape.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Escape to where?”\u00a0 He asked as Patrick held up his jacket giving him an expected look.\u00a0 Poe sighed and put it on, then let his Mate drag him through the precinct.\u00a0 He ignored everyone who called out to him, to the point he closed the elevator door in the Captain’ face.\u00a0 “Where are we going?”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I made reservations out your favorite cafe.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Why?”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Because I wanted to.\u00a0 I’m taking you on a date, Edgar.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Why?”<\/span><\/p>\n

Patrick gave him a look then sighed.\u00a0 “Because I want to.\u00a0 You’re my Mate and I do like spending time with you.\u00a0 It’s been a rough week and thought it would be nice not to discuss murder over dinner.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Poe chuckled.\u00a0 “Have you met me?”<\/span><\/p>\n

Patrick couldn’t help the laugh. “Okay so murder and the macab is fine, just not an active case.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Deal.”\u00a0 The two got into Patrick’s car, and headed towards downtown to their favorite cafe.\u00a0 “Thank you.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I know we’re not those people, but sometimes it’s nice just to be the two of us and not Patrick Jane and Edgar Allen Poe.”\u00a0 He glanced over to his Mate, smiling over the fact he still looked like the man who stepped out of the 19th century.\u00a0 There had actually been a few people who approached stating how much he resembled the famous poet.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sometimes I wish I could not be myself.”\u00a0 Edgar gave his Mate a small smile.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Well for today you can be at least your poet self.”\u00a0 Patrick gave him a wink.\u00a0 “For today is take your favorite Poet to lunch day.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Poe turned in his seat and stared, then smirked.\u00a0 “You read to much on the internet!”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I got it from Wayne I guess he gets emails telling him what’s going on for each day.\u00a0 I thought it was a fun one, so lunch it is.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“How about lunch and then head home.”<\/span><\/p>\n
