It’s National Dance Day!<\/span><\/p>\n

So first off anyone know how to dance?\u00a0 Waltz, Foxtrot etc..\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And a Sylum Snippet – for Kathie who a long time ago asked for Clay\/Jenson\/Cougar<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Jensen paused at the edge of the dance floor, and blinked a few times.\u00a0 \u00a0He shook his head, looked around the room, then back at the dance floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yep it was Clay, who was performing a competition worthy waltz.\u00a0 He had no idea who the girl was, but he never realized how elegant Clay could be, and it was something that was not computing in his brain.\u00a0 \u00a0Clay was a hard bitten military man, with a tragic past which sometimes came out with a surely attitude.\u00a0 Though over the years Jensen was seeing more and more of the softer cuddly side, Clay was still very much a hard man.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“You’ve been staring for over five minutes.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jensen was proud that he didn’t jump five feet in the air, toss his champaign glass, and scream like a little girl.\u00a0 “Bells!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Cougar’s chuckle was low and was practically a purr.\u00a0 “What’s got your attention?”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I didn’t realize Clay could be so … ” He waved his hand towards the couple as they moved around the dance floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

“He’s French.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“That doesn’t actually answer anything.”\u00a0 Jensen gave his Mate a look.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Then you didn’t actually ask anything.”\u00a0 Cougar smirked, then laughed lightly at Jensen’s snort.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

“Can you dance?”\u00a0 He was curious now.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m Spanish.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jensen glared at his Mate.\u00a0 “Come on.\u00a0 Grandma Peggy taught us enough to be awesome for prom but not enough to look that cool.”\u00a0 He glanced back at Clay, and was sure if he was jealous of his Mate or the woman he was dancing with.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We spent many times in courts.\u00a0 I worked for the Spanish monarchy off and on, this is simple compared to the dances of the time.”\u00a0 Cougar grabbed the champaign glass out of his Mate’s hand, sitting it on a passing waiter’s tray then took Jensen’s hand and led him to the dance floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m going to suck at this.”\u00a0 He laughed in delight as Cougar maneuvered them into the flow of people.\u00a0 Jensen remembered Grandma Peggy’s main advice to his sister, ‘Honey – if you have no idea where he’s leading you – slide’.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before he knew it he was suddenly moved away from Cougar and ended up in Clay’s arms.\u00a0 “What happened?”<\/span><\/p>\n

Clay chuckled then pulled Jensen closer, before sweeping off into a more elaborate dance.\u00a0 “Do we need to get you lessons?”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m good with the sliding.”\u00a0 He was sure it would be easier if had socks on instead of shoes.\u00a0 “I’m at awe the two of you know how to do this.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m French.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jensen’s eyes narrowed.\u00a0 “You two think you’re so funny.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Clay gave him a grin, spun him around then lowered him into a dip, gave him a quick kiss before pulling him back up, stepped back and bowed.\u00a0 “We can always give you private dance lessons.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that was a dance lesson he could get behind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
