Today is Top Gun Day – yes it’s a day – who knew!?<\/span><\/p>\n I was like oh yes write a snippet for Kathie who asked for ‘Ethan’s family’ then realized I already had so guess what BONUS Snippet!!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Maverick stared at the new recruits wondering how the hell they got younger each year.\u00a0 \u00a0He had made sure to look older these past couple of decades, but still he was teaching children.<\/span><\/p>\n His bitching to Speed only got laughing gifs back.\u00a0 The bastard.<\/span><\/p>\n He started his opening speech with the normal blah blah about responsibility, not to be cocky, and everyone here knows they’re good cause they’re in this room.\u00a0 Reminding them their only as good as their last run, and to remember that over confidence will destroy multi-million planes.\u00a0 Lucky the government doesn’t take it out of their paycheck, if they did Maverick would still be owing them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n That got a good laugh out of the group.<\/span><\/p>\n “Last but not least.\u00a0 We all know the movie.”\u00a0 God he hated and loved Bruce for that particular film.\u00a0 “For every quote from it, is $5 in the pot.\u00a0 Once the course is over, it will buy me a nice email at the new Chef Fullerton’s restaurant.”<\/span><\/p>\n “Just you?”\u00a0 Someone asked with a sly smile.<\/span><\/p>\n “Isn’t that restaurant like a hundred a plate?”<\/span><\/p>\n “Yes just me.\u00a0 There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to a good meal, a treat or just a day for oneself.”\u00a0 He looked at everyone, being serous.\u00a0 “I’m being seriously.\u00a0 This job is stressful.\u00a0 Lives are on the line.\u00a0 \u00a0Remember, you don’t have time to think up there. If you think, you’re dead.”\u00a0 With a smirk he pulled out a five and set it in the pot. “So take time to enjoy life, and take care of yourself.”<\/span><\/p>\n Maverick could already tell who was going to be ‘him’ before he opened his mouth to spout of some quote, as he held up a five waving it around.<\/span><\/p>\n Just before he was going to reply, his phone beeped.\u00a0 \u00a0He ignored the snickering and looked down at the screen<\/span><\/p>\n ‘Happy Top Gun day!\u00a0 Make sure to curtail your Need for Speed<\/em>!’\u00a0 Nathan somehow was the ‘father’ of the group of misfits.<\/span><\/p>\n ‘You can be my wingman anytime.’\u00a0 It always made him smile to see Claus relax and have a good time.<\/span><\/p>\n ‘Just remember there are no points for second place.’\u00a0 He’s sure Claudio would have no problem telling him who’s first.<\/span><\/p>\n ‘You’re not going to be happy unless going March 2 with your hair on fire.’\u00a0 Maverick couldn’t help the smile to see Reacher playing along.<\/span><\/p>\n He laughed and they quickly typed back to his family.\u00a0 ‘You’re all assholes!’<\/span><\/p>\n ‘Your ego is cashing checks your body can’t pay!’<\/span><\/p>\n As if Ethan could talk considering his job.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After a few more rude emojis he told them they owed him at least twenty-five dollars and put away his phone.\u00a0 “Don’t do that in class.”<\/span><\/p>\n “Girlfriend?”<\/span><\/p>\n “Family.”\u00a0 He answered with a small smile.\u00a0 “Annoying adrenaline junkies the lot of them!”<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today is Top Gun Day – yes it’s a day – who knew!?
