“You know I’m right!” Owen turned around and glared at his father.\u00a0 “He’s insane if he thinks by ‘imprinting’ on every animal hatched it’s going to keep them docile.”<\/p>\n

Muldoon took a calming breath, hoping to calm his kid down.\u00a0 “Only way we’re going to be able to do anything is by playing…”<\/p>\n

“They’re Raptors, dad!”\u00a0 Owen snapped.\u00a0 “This isn’t a rhino, hippo, bull elephant, cheetah, or lion, hell this isn’t even man-eater.\u00a0 These are Apex Predators, that make any previous predator on this earth look like a puppy!”<\/p>\n

“Yelling isn’t going to help.”\u00a0 He reached out laying a hand on his son’s arm.<\/p>\n

Muldoon had seen Owen pissed over the years, most of the time righteously so.\u00a0 He was passionate about animals, and his instinct towards predators was un-canning, though he really never wanted to admit it.\u00a0 So he knew Owen was right, Hammond’s idea to bond with each hatched dinosaur wasn’t going to calm them down at the slightest.\u00a0 \u00a0Even the lions Owen has raised by hand, are still wild animals and can lash out.\u00a0 “I need you here.”<\/p>\n

Owen took a deep breath, closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself down.\u00a0 “We’re not paleontologists, those scientist aren’t dinosaur people.\u00a0 They have no idea what the fuck their doing, and now he wants to raise and coddle Raptors.\u00a0 He’s fucked with the DNA also, the ones he’s hatching aren’t chicken size.”<\/p>\n

Muldoon’s head tilted slightly in confusion.\u00a0 “I saw the schematics…”<\/p>\n

“I’ve done some research.\u00a0 Any fossils of raptors that have been found are about the size of Tiny Terror, maybe slightly bigger.\u00a0 Now imagine him with sharper claws, teeth, and without his fun loving personality.”<\/p>\n

“Let’s not.”<\/p>\n

Owen chuckled at his dad’s horrified expression.\u00a0 “But now take that and make it my size.\u00a0 Cooing at it when it’s hatched is not going to make it docile.\u00a0 People will die.”\u00a0 He paused, looked square at his dad.\u00a0 “I’m good with predators.\u00a0 You know this.\u00a0 But I know little about these creatures, and anything out there is speculation from fossil records.\u00a0 Instincts are telling me, if he puts them into that small pen, it’s not going to end well.\u00a0 \u00a0And Hammond’s ego is to large to hear the truth from, what did he call me?”<\/p>\n

“No name zoo keeper who thinks he’s Dr. Doolittle.”<\/p>\n

“I’m sorry dad, but you and I both know he’ll shove me off this island, like he has anyone else who’s contradicted him.\u00a0 I’m going to need you to hold strong, and dad if any of these creatures get out, especially those raptors.\u00a0 Shoot them.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
