We’re back!<\/p>\n

Exhausted! Feet still hurt! But back to work on all things Sylum!<\/p>\n

San Diego was amazing! The city was a gracious host if not exhausted after Comic Con.<\/p>\n

Below is a picture of Petco Stadium taken from the St. James Hotel aka Ramada Gaslamp District Convention Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Just a few days before we arrived Zombies were running around this place.<\/p>\n

Lucky for us they were gone before we got there.<\/p>\n

As were the Padres.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There was only a few of us but that didn’t stop us from having loads of fun.<\/p>\n

Or going to see some amazing places.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday:<\/p>\n

A few of us took off to see the\u00a0Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala.<\/p>\n

The first Mission in California.<\/p>\n

\"SONY<\/a><\/p>\n

Then we met up and did a quick hello and headed off to Old Town San Diego.<\/p>\n

Some dared to see the Whaley House\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

While others had a few Margaritas!<\/p>\n

On Thursday, five us of ventured out to view the USS Midway<\/a>!<\/p>\n

We got there at 10am left at 4pm. \u00a0Only stopping for an hour for lunch!!<\/p>\n

If you ever get a chance to see this. GO!!!<\/p>\n

\"SONY<\/a><\/p>\n

They say it takes 90 mins… HA! Maybe 90 Mins per Deck!<\/p>\n

The Audio Tour gives a great guide through the decks and life on the ship.<\/p>\n

Adds personal stories from crewmen to put into perspective of what you’re seeing.<\/p>\n

There are many things to look at and learn.<\/p>\n

Crewmen’s Quarters<\/p>\n

Laundry<\/p>\n

Engine Room<\/p>\n

Mess Hall<\/p>\n

Medical<\/p>\n

But the main event is the Flight Deck.<\/p>\n

\"SONY<\/a><\/p>\n

On Friday we had our Clan Meeting<\/p>\n

Discussion Topic: Maritime and Navy<\/p>\n

Gee – I wonder why?<\/p>\n

Gil gave a great lecture on Ancient Greek\/Roman Navy<\/p>\n

And their unique naming convention *smirks*<\/p>\n

Shep gave us the history of the Coast Guard along with history\/bios of a few Characters this will connect to.<\/p>\n

Timothy Quinn gave us a history of the HMS Surprise and the Royal Navy.<\/p>\n

Which we got to see the next day!<\/p>\n

\"SONY<\/a><\/p>\n

The Maritime Museum of San Diego <\/a>was pretty awesome.<\/p>\n

They had a lot of ships and a very detailed Museum.<\/p>\n

But in truth the main reason we were there was for the HMS Surprise.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you do not know the Surprise<\/em> – You will need to watch Master and Commander.<\/p>\n

Actually – let me just say this now!<\/p>\n

Master and Commander is a very important element in Sylum and must be watched.<\/p>\n

\n

We spent the day exploring the HMS Surprise\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

And I won’t tell you how many photos were taken!<\/p>\n

Back at the Hotel there was Pizza, Beer and some Trivia!<\/p>\n

Sparrow and Shep fought it out to win the prize.<\/p>\n

We’ll be listing out the Trivia later this week, to see what score you can get!<\/p>\n

A few memorable moments from the Gathering.<\/h3>\n

* Trying to get Speed off the HMS Surprise<\/em><\/p>\n

* Intro to the Assassins<\/p>\n

* The Elevator from 1913 that was fast in 1913 not so much in 2013<\/p>\n

* ‘… like a goddamn Animal’<\/p>\n

* He is him but not him but really him but not him cause really it is him<\/p>\n

Just a few changes in store.<\/p>\n

Instead of Clan Gathering – it’s now officially called:<\/p>\n

Sylum Con<\/h2>\n

We have some ideas of where we’ll be going.<\/p>\n

Well we had an idea but there may be issues so we’re working on new ideas.<\/p>\n

An announcement will be made soon for the Dates for Sylum Con.<\/p>\n
