Nico smiled at the sound of the Mardi Gras party in full swing down in the ballroom. \u00a0It had been a long few months, the holidays had seemed to blend, then all hell broke loose in January.<\/p>\n

He would really like to have a year that is calm, normal, and not have some lunatic whether it be Cardinal or Caesar trying to destroy something.<\/p>\n

“Deep thoughts?” \u00a0Warrick glanced down at his Mate, who had his head in his lap, as the two were curled up on their couch away from the party.<\/p>\n

“Can we give up ‘someone trying to kill us’ for lent?” \u00a0He asked.<\/p>\n

“I’m good with it.” He laughed lightly, running his hand through the dark locks. \u00a0“You and Kenway still thinking of joining the Police Department.”<\/p>\n

“I need to do something, and give us good excuse to have a house in the city. \u00a0Though will you be okay with us being open and out?” \u00a0Nico looked up at his Mate, it was a big thing for Warrick to be a Lieutenant, especially as a black man, add in being gay could do a lot of damage.<\/p>\n

“I don’t give a shit. Some punk ass kid comes after me, to teach the nigger, yeah well it wouldn’t be the first time, and I’ll flatten him. \u00a0Same if they come after the fag. \u00a0I’m more worried about you, I’m a Lieutenant in Forensics, you would be a beat cop.”<\/p>\n

“Kenway.”<\/p>\n

“Point.”<\/p>\n

“We should get downstairs.” \u00a0Nico sat up, smiling at his Mate. \u00a0“Thomas went all out, just like he did for our Hallow Thanksmas Eve.”<\/p>\n

“What?” Warrick laughed as he got off the couch.<\/p>\n

“It’s what I called last years holidays, it felt like one long day with the amount of people who kept stopping by.” \u00a0He pulled Warrick down for a soft kiss. \u00a0“Let’s get downstairs, if your lucking I’ll flash you for some beads.”<\/p>\n
