This is it! \u00a0This is the day the new Sylum Archive opens!<\/p>\n

Why are we moving to a new Archive?<\/p>\n

A) The old one was no longer supported by the developers and was starting to fail. \u00a0Coding wasn’t working, skins were failing, and you might have noticed it didn’t like foreign languages – it would replace accents on foreign words with a ‘?’ – annoying when you’re trying to Demons & Angels.<\/p>\n

B) The old Archive was extremely basic, clunky, and was not intuitive. \u00a0It was hard to navigate as a reader, let alone trying to upload a story.<\/p>\n

C) It was a good way to update older stories, and clean out those that were not part of Sylum Canon.<\/p>\n

To access the Archive you will need to create a username\/password or use one of these Social Media programs to login:\u00a0 Twitter, WordPress, Yahoo, Instagram, & Tumblr.<\/p>\n

Important: <\/strong>This is a separate Password from the one you received through Sylum Security to enter the main website. \u00a0That password will not get you into the Archive.<\/p>\n

Repeat – the username\/password to access the main website will not get you into the archive.<\/p>\n

You will need a personal login. \u00a0So you can leave likes<\/strong> and feedback<\/strong> on individual stories!<\/p>\n

In this new archive you\u2019ll find the Canon<\/strong> Stories for the Sylum Universe.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve built this archive slightly different, than your typical fanfic archive. \u00a0You will not be able to search by fandom, especially as Sylum in itself is it\u2019s own fandom.<\/p>\n

Instead there are 3 categories:<\/em><\/p>\n

Legacy<\/strong>: \u00a0The main set of stories, that are the foundation and legacy of the universe.<\/p>\n

Anthologies<\/strong>: \u00a0Stories that have a correlation to each other, but are not connected.<\/p>\n

Series<\/strong>: Stories that have a continuing story thread.<\/p>\n

Every Sylum story will fall into one of these three categories.<\/p>\n

There will be sub-categories with each one, to distinguish a specific legacy, anthology or series. \u00a0For example: \u00a0Clan War would go under \u2013 Legacy<\/strong>. \u00a0The Westen series would go under Series<\/strong> \u2013 Burn Notice. \u00a0Miami Cabana would go under Anthologies<\/strong> \u2013 Sylum Clan.<\/p>\n

Think of it like standing in a bookstore and staring at a bookcase worth of books. \u00a0You first find the story that started it all \u2013\u00a0Legacy<\/strong>. \u00a0Then you look for those that continue storyline with a series of stories based on a character or event \u2013 Series<\/strong>. \u00a0And once you devoured all of that, you look for the standalone stories that associated with a specific theme or location \u2013 Anthologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All stories will be tagged with the following four types of tags, these will be searchable.<\/p>\n

Writer Tags<\/strong>: Now we have a few writers who use their RP Character as a Pseudonym \u2026 so if you type into the search field Timothy Quinn<\/em> \u2013 you will get posts not only for \u2026\u00a0Timothy Quinn, but also Creative Consultant:<\/strong> Timothy Quinn \u2013 so make sure to double check the tags before clicking on a story.<\/p>\n

(Tags for writers<\/strong>: \u00a0Creator: Bj Jones, Creative Consultant: Timothy Quinn, Writer: Gil Grissom, Writer: taibhrigh, Writer: Paula Cas, Writer: Ladyjax, and Writer: Jack Sparrow)<\/p>\n

Clan Tags<\/strong>: Only the top 3 Clans will be listed. \u00a0Like Character Tags if we tried to list every Clan that is mentioned, it would be long list. \u00a0For larger works, that encompasses all of the Clans \u2013 Multiple Clans.<\/p>\n

Rating Tags<\/strong>: You will notice there isn\u2019t a \u2018warning\u2019 tag. \u00a0There is a reason for that, the one and only warning you\u2019ll get is on the login page. \u00a0You see it each time you login and should know that anything and everything, can and will be showcased in Sylum. \u00a0We\u2019ll be using the normal rating system: G, PG, R, NC-17.<\/p>\n

Reading Tips: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Character Tags<\/strong>: Only the top 10 characters will be listed. \u00a0If we tried to list every character in every story \u2013 it will be a LOT of tags. \u00a0For larger works, with multiple characters you will find a catch all tag \u2013 Border Members<\/em>. \u00a0Character Tags will be labeled by their name showcased in the wiki. \u00a0So if you\u2019re not sure what the birth or original name of Van Helsing is you might want to check the Sylum Wiki<\/a> before hitting the search button.<\/p>\n
