~*~<\/p>\n

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost twenty years since I last set foot in my home State. If I had my way I wouldn\u2019t ever set foot in the State again.<\/p>\n

Too many memories.<\/p>\n

Too many ghosts.<\/p>\n

But justice calls and it’s my duty to bring home the bad guy.<\/p>\n

Speed wanted to come with me, but I needed him Miami running the evidence. I trusted him to make sure I had everything I needed. The priority was the case not my past.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t see it that way.<\/p>\n

Tim knows.<\/p>\n

He knows the truth about New York and my sudden relocation to Miami. He knows coming here is going to bring it all back. I can\u2019t think about my father or his last words to me. I can\u2019t think about the blood on my hands as my mother died. I can only focus on the here and now. A young girl\u2019s parents have been murdered and I will find them for her.<\/p>\n

She is my priority.<\/p>\n

As far as I\u2019m concerned New York is just another State. I will do my job then go home.<\/p>\n

To Miami.<\/p>\n

To Speed.<\/p>\n

And when I wake up shaking from nightmares he\u2019ll be there to hold me. What he doesn\u2019t know is that I can face New York now \u2013 the memories and the ghosts.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because I know when I step off the plane back in Miami he\u2019ll be there waiting to welcome me home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
